Pakistan’s unique geo-strategic location offers both strengths and challenges. By optimizing its land routes, coastal lines, and air corridors, the country provides cost-effective and reliable transit routes for landlocked Central Asian nations and neighboring countries, supporting efficient trade year-round. According to the World Bank, inefficiencies in the transport sector currently cost Pakistan approximately five percent of its GDP, with nearly 30 percent of agricultural output lost due to inadequate farm-to-market channels, cold storage, and an outdated trucking fleet. The Government of Pakistan is committed to modernizing the transport and logistics sector, with Vision 2025 aiming to reduce transport costs, enhance safety, improve connectivity between rural and urban areas, and establish integrated transportation corridors with key regional partners, ultimately fostering sustainable economic growth.
